Leigh Anne Wilson

Leigh Anne was my only child. Her friends accidentally ran her over while wakeboarding. The propeller cut the artery in her leg and she bled to death on the lake. Leigh also had severe cuts on her leg through contact with the propeller. Her friends performed CPR but the wound to her artery was too severe. She was dead on arrival at the hospital.

My Daughter was loved by all. Her fiance was devastated. Her father beside himself with grief. Her aunts, uncles and cousins were un consolable. She was the only grandchildren on her father's side. On the day of her funeral, they closed the call center where she worked. Over 300 people signed her guest book and the worker at the cemetery told me in 23 years he had worked there, Leigh's grave had more flowers than he had ever seen. The line to view her went around the block.

At the funeral, people whispered in my ear, Leigh bought food for me when I was in need, Leigh bought my plane ticket so I could see my Mother, it went on and on. I always knew my Daughter was special, but I'm her Mom. It seems others did also. She was a blessing, a bright light when she walked into the room.

Instead of planning her wedding, I arranged her funeral. A bridal bouquet was replaced with a casket blanket. Such a pain in my heart I cannot describe. Such a senseless accident to take my beautiful girl. I pray no other parent has to go thru this nightmare.

 Respectfully,

 Karen Wilson
