About Us
I, Gary Polson of Polson Enterprises, webmaster PropellerSafety.com, formerly the Propeller Guard Information Center. I am an advocate for propeller safety, and have especially promoted the development of Virtual Propeller Guards (the use of sensors in preventing recreational boat propeller accidents). We have particularly been involved in reoccurring propeller accident scenarios such as pontoon and houseboat propeller strikes, ejections, bass boat ejections, Circle of Death accidents, outboard motors striking submerged objects breaking off and flipping into boats, kill switch lanyard preventable accidents, and boat propeller accidents at the swim ladder.
My wife Lora helps with the office work, provides emotional support, and navigates our field trips.
I am a licensed professional engineer and a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers.
As Polson Enterprises, we provide new product development services to companies developing propeller injury avoidance devices, serve as an archive for all things to do with boat propeller accidents, and provide litigation support services.
