First Responders postage stamp: 2018
U.S. Postage Service (USPS) will recognize First Responders with the issue of a special stamp later in 2018.
Per USPS:
“With this stamp, the Postal Service recognizes the men and women — including firefighters, law enforcement officers, and emergency medical service professionals — who respond to critical situations with skill, dedication and uncommon bravery.”
As we have mentioned before, medical advances and especially first responders have significantly contributed to reducing boat propeller fatalities in recent years. Often, law enforcement and medical professionals on or near the lake are able to quickly respond to the site, rescue those in the water, slow blood loss, and vastly improve patient outcomes. Beyond decreasing fatalities, their service has reduced the length of hospital stays, and saved human limbs that were or would have been amputated. We join the U.S. Postal Service in saluting all First Responders and thank them for the services they perform, sometimes at great personal peril.
